You should feel like a terrible HP fan for A) being so gullible as to believe this without checking in any way whether it’s true; B) spreading it around to other gullible people & perpetuating the lie.

Are you sure you’re not the one being gullible? Of course I know it’s not true, but I wanted to see if anything with a Harry Potter hash tag will get reblogged regardless of the content.

Wouldn’t a better experiment have been to post something irrelevant/blatantly untrue (you’d think this is, but no…)? Still means you’re helping spread the myth… Which is probably how it started in the first place, someone wanting to know if anyone would fall for it. But they underestimated people’s apparent lack of attention to the books and their willingness to accept anything they see in front of them without questioning it… Anddd suddenly it’s all over the internet like a rash. 

Well, I don’t think you’re helping your cause when you’re reblogging it yourself. Make your own .jpg to spread over the internet like a “rash”. A true Harry Potter fan will check the facts and laugh about it, not go on and on about how you’re a superior and calling everyone else gullible. Get off your high horse and don’t reblog if it bothers you THAT much.
